I've found several ways to handle duplexing, depending on the abilities
of your printer.  If you have a postscript printer with a duplexing unit
built in, you can use a2ps or enscript (both GNU) to do duplex printing
(but don't use the filter for laserjet4/5/6 -- use the generic
postscript printer filter instead).  If your printer does not have a
built-in duplexer, you can use psmandup, which comes with a2ps.  In my
experience, these tools work extremely well, although they can be a bit
of a pain to get up and running -- especially on some of the corporate
unices like HP-UX.
