try /usr/sbin/httpd -l

I assume that you have java enabled in the browser?
Look around in your logs (access_log and error_log, use locate to find
them) and see if you can find where the browser requests the .class
files and fails. The permissions are fine.

This means that there is something wrong with your code.
try perl -cw file.pl from the command line, and you'll find any
compile time errors.
