Well, I realize it's not eyecandy, but I'm pretty satisified (and
addicted) to mutt..

It does require some serious customization before you can use it the way
that you'll like... but there's lots of mutt oriented websites out there
where you can steal .muttrc files to guide you..

Try balsa.  You can find it in the software map on the gnome site.  In
