If you have any way to get to REGEDIT  (Start, Run, regedit) even in safe mode.
Goto:
MyComputer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE|Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion
Look under "ProductKey"

There you will find the 5 by 5 code that was used to install Windows.

Emachines comes with Windows installed on the hard drive. You might find in
"c:\windows\options\cabs" or in some other directory off /options.
There should be a setup.exe in that directory that you can run that to 
reload windows.
