If you're looking for someone here in the Boston area, you could try
shore.net (http://www.shore.net). We used them back when I worked at
Zoom, and we used a Linux box to communicate with them; no problems at
all. And at least some of their people are clueful. I also know people
who are happily using their DSL service. (They weren't offering it yet
when my house get hooked up.)

True, they're the high-priced spread. But they do deliver what you're
paying for.
