I liked it, but it won't work. The user still might need a shell.
Both in X sessions and for remote access. (Not a completely naive
user.)
As for the "exec startx", thanks, that is getting close. The downside
is that the virtual console login doesn't go away until after the X
session does. So the X session offers things like reboot and
shutdown, simple logout would be nice.
And this is not a completely naive user thing. When I am logged in on
either my notebook or my work machine I am usually in an X session.
But I don't want the original virtual terminal session sitting there
open with no password. As it is I have to start up X, then remember
to go back to the login terminal and log out before I go back to X. A
single command that both started X and killed the original login right
away would be nice for me too.
