Help! Linux won't boot and my nephew is coming for dinner!

Thanks for the advice.

Unfortunately, I can't get to that point: no matter what I tell the
installation program (graphical, text,expert,rescue), it still abends trying to
load the AIC7XXX driver.

Does anyone know the "home" for these drivers? There may be an updated version,
or something I can put on a driver disk. TIA.
