linksys router and port 80

Why not place a dumb hub in the segment between the cable/DSL device and the
Linksys, plug in a fixed IP address and DG of your linksys and surf through?

Maybe the network will barf that you are hijacking someone else's IP.  If
so, unplug the modem first, or whatever is needed to pull it off (?)

If you can get to it from the hub through the linksys, but cannot get there
from the outside world, you will know it's your provider.  If you cannot get
there from the hub, you may want to futz with the linksys until you can.

Anyone aware of any issue with the linksys router
BEFSR41 and port 80?  Every time I try to access port
80 it refuses it.  I'm trying to run a web server.
I've narrowed it down to either the router or verizon.
 I'm compelled to think it is the router but i'm not
sure.  running a port scan says that port 80 is
filtered.
