That is correct - $47.95 if you buy a modem, $50.95 if you rent one.

Apparently they did this to reflect the greatly decreased cost of
purchasing a cable modem. They used to give you a bigger break because
cable modems were so expensive (I paid around $300 for mine originally).
Now you can purchase one for $99.  I'm not saying this is good reasoning,
of course, but it is their reasoning.
