Topics:
1. Secure Wireless Access: Have you setup a wireless network at home
or at work? Think it's secure just because you use 128-bit encryption
or have hard-coded a list of authorized MAC addresses? Guess again!
SonicWall will discuss the weaknesses inherent to wireless systems, and
will demonstrate their new SOHO TZW, a hardware-based, stateful packet
inspection firewall that also includes a built-in wireless access point.
The wireless access point requires that users first establish an
IPSec-based VPN between their mobile device and the firewall. [Brad's
note: This product ROCKS!]
2. The United States Secret Service / New England Electronic Crimes
Task Force (NET): With the passage in October 2001 of the Patriot Act,
the U.S. Secret Service was authorized to establish a nationwide network
of electronic crimes task forces, based on the agency's highly
successful New York City model. The task force approach developed by the
Secret Service has generated unprecedented partnerships among federal,
state and local law enforcement, the private sector, and academia. These
partnerships have experienced remarkable success in detecting and
suppressing computer-based crime. The partnering methods and techniques
successfully utilized by the task force against cyber-criminals are
unprecedented in the law enforcement arena. Come learn about the
functions of the NET and how they are adapting to the current climate of
electronic crimes.
Thank you,
Brad Dinerman
