Need help with an old networked printer

I just got a DEC LN17PS laser printer *very* cheap. It has duplex printing,
envelope printing, and a network card. I want to set up CUPS on my Red hat
7.3 box to talk to it. The problem is, I can't figure out how to see/change
the IP address of the network card.
I cannot find an online manual for this thing, and the ethernet config menu on
it does not mention IP addresses. I found references to it talking on port
2501, but that's it.
PS- This is supposed to be the same thing as the Xeron 4517 (it uses the Xerox
LN17 engine) and the IBM Network Printer 17.
BTW, I tried running tcpdump on my server's intranet card then turning the
printer on, and saw activity that I simply cannot interpret. For a sample
see http://thekramers.net/tmp/decoutput.txt
Thanks.

Arthur, "this is obviously some strange usage of the word
_safe_ that I wasn't previously aware of."
