I think much of this has been answered, but if you are cloning a live
filesystem you could have some issues.
I always prefer to shutdown to single user mode or boot into a rescue
system before doing the copy.
Additionally, although dd will do an image copy, when copying a Windows
partition, you should probably sys the new Windows partition to insure
you can boot it.
