There is a Windows utility called sys.com
c:\windows\command\sys.com
Running this might correct the situation.
Once you get ME running then, you can reinstall GRUB (preferred) or
LILO.
In the past, I have backed up Windows to a tar archive, and restred it,
and all that is required is to run sys.com.
