Ahh, what heck did it say... Upon boot in the middle of all that
comforting green I saw an ugly red fail and as it was scrolling by I saw
mpmpd. And then searched around until I got to learn about mdadm, which
worked out wonderfully as I haven't had a chance to read about raid much
yet. I just pick up things as I stumble along. I'll check my logs...
/var/log/boot.log
mdmpd: mdmpd failed
That's all I see. I've already removed the package. I had some disk
geometry problems (all is working fine now though) and I wonder if
they're related? Wish I had more information to pass along. Is there
another log I could check?
(unrelated:) One thing I do see that I don't like is;
/var/log/messages
modprobe: FATAL: Error running install command for sound_slot_1
This is all over the place. I can't use xmms, the default cd player,
grip or Rhythmbox to play cds, but xine is working just fine. No big
deal, I haven't had time to play with it yet. Juggling a couple other
things. Any ideas though?
