Another ALSA driver upgrade, another show-stopper; can you folks tell me
whether this is an ALSA problem or a devfs problem?
ALSA modules load fine, no complaints. lsmod show the following:
Module Size Used by
snd_seq_oss 32768 0
snd_seq_midi_event 6080 1 snd_seq_oss
snd_seq 53424 4 snd_seq_oss,snd_seq_midi_event
snd_seq_device 6664 2 snd_seq_oss,snd_seq
snd_pcm_oss 50596 0
snd_pcm 88968 1 snd_pcm_oss
snd_page_alloc 9284 1 snd_pcm
snd_timer 22468 2 snd_seq,snd_pcm
snd_mixer_oss 18272 1 snd_pcm_oss
snd 47844 8
snd_seq_oss,snd_seq_midi_event,snd_seq,snd_seq_device,snd_pcm_oss,snd_pcm,snd_timer,snd_mixer_oss

$ amixer

$ ls -al /dev/snd

Am I missing some devices in /dev/snd? How can I force the creation of
the sound devices? /proc/pci shows the sound card; it worked a week
ago, #include std_user_excuses etc. etc.
Best,
d.
