New box does not load BIOS

Did you ever find the Asus page for the board? 2500+ is a fairly new chip. 
Some BIOSes only support cpus up to a certain frequency, and past that you 
have to first flash the bios while booted with a slower chip. I've seen this 
with some Tyans and an Itanium system. It's worth checking into.
