Three parts:
1. Get the modem working. Highly dependent on what kind of modem it
is. If this is a built-in modem, it's likely to be completely unusable,
because it has no controller. If you're lucky, it would be supported by
the linmodem project (www.linmodems.org). If you're very lucky, it's a
real modem.
2. Get PPP working. http://www.tldp.org/HOWTO/PPP-HOWTO/
3. Configure the box with the modem to forward packets and do
whatever firewalling you want.
