Yup. Lots. Best to stick with ones for the distro you want.

Thinkpads have specific APCI issues.
IIRC, FC3/FC4 should be better than most linux for Thinkpad.
Debian/Ubuntu on a T23 has been an adventure, but ifyou can read
this it's working.

You should plan to re-install windows on the first partition after
partioning -- the re-sizing of NTFS just doesn't happen. I broke
Win2k trying to do that on this box, which was just as well as it
forced me to make this a Linux only laptop and I'm happy. (It's not
my only system, and was new to me with nothing on C: that I cared
about, so not a problem.)
Fedora isn't my preferred distro, so beyond that I'm not helpful .
