I hate Lotus Notes

Hi. I'm forced to use Windows and Lotus Notes at my new job  :( and I get a complaint from a guy on the OpenOffice list I'm on that I'm replying to return receipts.  I can't find an easy way to make this email client stop replying or at least ask first.  Is this just a totally lame client or am I just overlooking an option on the menu?
