Google vs pair [email/web] hosting

The one thing that has become clear to me thus far (I have not done any 
transfer at this time) is Google's human support seems to be non-existent. 
They offer links to gain support from forums, but nothing for direct 
interaction with them.   gmail-support at google.com also doesn't get to 
them directly.

With pair (for example) I have excellent human interaction.   I also can 
check mail via shell (PINE) via an ssh connection to a UNIX host on their 
network.   And I get IMAP/SSL.

I think I'll stick with pair for now.   I'd actually be giving up a lot if 
I went to Google, unless Pair suddenly disappeared or went downhill.

These are my observations.
