Wake-on-lan trigger device for my office PC -- using OpenWRT?

I posted some questions a while ago. I have a Penguin Computer with a=20
Tyan MB. Penguin told me to use 'poweroff -f' so that the network cards=20
remain alive, but when I sent a Wakeup packet from my laptop, it did not =

work through my router. I specifically set my router to pass wake-on-lan =

packets. My next step is to connect my laptop to eth1 via a crossover=20
cable.

Another issue is although as far as I have been able to determine,=20
Wake-on-lan is supported by the MB but there is not a BIOS setting.

But, another question, generally, what is the power consumption of a PC, =

when it goes into standby or hibernation. I normally have cron shut the=20
system  down at night. It's not all that important to me because I=20
generally don't need my computer to be working when I am asleep.
