[Discuss] Gimp "Recently Used" list

I typically use gimp by cd'ing into a directory full of files, then
starting gimp from the
command line with the filename of the first file to edit. When I
finish with the first file,
I type ^o to open the next file.
Prior to Fedora 16, when I went to open the next file, the Open FIle
dialog would
place me in the same directory as the image I had just closed. Now, it
places me
in a list of Recently Used documents, and I'm forced to navigate the
filesystem to
find the current directory that I was already in. For subsequent documents, it
correctly remembers the current directory.
A google search yields a multitude of links explaining how to disable
the Recently
Used document list entirely, but I haven't found anything showing how
to default
to the current directory while still retaining the Recently Used list
as an option.
Can anyone tell me how I can get back the old behavior?
Thanks!
