Before Comcast, I knew the VP of Broadband services for Continental
Cablevision (highway1, Mediaone). He stated that they had a rule that
not more that 300 on a shared segment. Comcast had had fibre in place
before FIOS, but the cable did not come to your home. What you are
seeing is probably more cable to support business level service.
