Job Description
•	Dataset updates and maintenance (ETL)
•	Creates system and process monitoring scripts and reports of
existing and new systems
•	Performs final testing of new software and services prior to
deployment
•	Provides deployment support to operations group
•	Creates, updates and maintains environment and deployment
documentation
•	Works with the operations team to plan, perform, and maintain
routine product modifications, enhancements, and upgrades
•	Works closely with development and operations teams to make
continuous improvements to data engineering environments
•	Tracks issues encountered and responds according to reasonable SLAs

Required Skill-set
•	BS or BA in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, MIS or
relevant technology degree plus 2+ years work experience in similar
environment or at least 3-5 years relevant work experience in similar
environment
•	Strong analytical and problem solving capabilities
•	Ability to execute all tasks with exceptional attention to detail
•	Ability and desire to work in a high-pressure, fast-paced start-up
environment and be able to handle several projects and tasks simultaneously
•	Must possess excellent time management and prioritization skills
•	Ability to work non-standard hours to accomplish deployment
initiatives and to be on call
•	Great analytical, problem solving, decision-making, and
communication skills
•	Experience with Linux (Red Hat and CentOS) and/or UNIX networks and
systems
•	Proficient with scripting languages including bash/sh, Perl, and
PHP.
•	Proficient with databases and complex SQL queries (MYSQL)
•	Proficient in debugging of system configurations and application
code
•	Ability to work remotely and meet with team as needed at office in
downtown Boston.  Working remotely from home will require a strong work
ethic and discipline to document progress of work accomplished.
•	VMware workstation, server, or ESX – build/manage new and existing
VMs Real-time system monitoring and reporting on various software and
processes
•	Other programming language skills
•	Windows Operating Systems
•	Object oriented programming experience
•	Experience working in high availability environments handling large
data sets

Compensation 
90,000- 100,000

Company Description
The Dev/Ops Engineer plans and conducts activities concerned with ensuring
the performance and reliability of our software applications.  This includes
monitoring, validating changes, gathering and reporting metrics, testing,
incident management, change management, etc.  Able to install, debug and
support various environments that support our client’s applications.  The
Data Engineering Support Engineer is expected to complete tasks
independently and with minimum support from management staff.  S/he has a
strong ability to grasp new technologies and acquire new skills through
independent study and interaction with other team members.
