on a similar topic, I'm trying to mount an nfs drive to a linux box. I'm learning and reading about nfs and mounting but each article I read they mention a different way to do it. I would like to mount QNAP NAS drive to the Ubuntu VMserver in which in the directory there are real time stream files from HDHomerun (a TV Verizon box that stream tv in real time). The mounting would need to be permanent. in one article someone suggested to use TCP instead in the syntax instead of UDP. Could someone please help me with the syntax of it?
Thanks,Aldo

The interface is slow via the vsphere client. When I get into the console, myubuntu almost does not respond to keyboard or mouse, it normally takes few seconds before I can even see the screen. Right now as of an example, I'm running the latest updates via the software updater but do only thing that I see is a white dialog that seems to be not doing anything. When I try to close it I get the Warning message "The window might be busy and not responding. do you want to terminate the application? Software updater. I hope this info is more helpful. P.S. unfamiliar with virtio but I will google it right now.

> Hi,Not a linux guru like all of you, trying to learn it. I installed mythubuntu on VMWare 5. I noticed that the app is very slow to respond, I have it set to 4 processors and lot of memory, it should go faster. Not issues running Windows machines. I have installed the guest, there is any tuning that I may need to do to make it faster.
Are you using the virtio drivers for disk and network?
Can you characterize what "very slow to respond" means to
you?
