[Discuss] Setting Monitor Resolution in Gnome Box

I've installed other distros in separate Gnome Boxes to try them out.
Once the desktop manager for the Fedora installation comes up, the
screen resolution is 1024x768.
The full-screen resolution which the virtual monitor supports, is
1920x1002 and almost full-screen is 1920x1080. In trying to get the
desktop to come up in this resolution, I have tried an xorg.conf file,
as well as in the distro's session settings, to add (under Autostart):
xrandr --output Virtual-0 --mode 1920x1002 (and)
xrandr --output Virtual-0 --mode 1920x1002 --rate 59.9609
I've also added vga=xxx to the boot parameter with the hex code that is
closest to this resolution and also tried a different code for
1920x1080.
None of the above will bring up the desktop/desktop manager in the
desired resolution.
FWIW, I also have two other distros in separate Gnome Boxes: PCLinuxOS
(which is based on OpenMandriva) and Lubuntu. With both of these, I
get full screen, or almost full-screen, certainly better than 1024x768.
I don't understand why the other two distros will honor monitor
settings, while Fedora doesn't. I have to keep changing it to 1920x1002
after the desktop appears each time.
Would there be anything else I could try?
Thanks in advance.
