I don't think I had heard of Void Linux. I'll keep it in mind. Poking 
about I'm pleased that MATE seems a common in distributions, good. And 
this gets me wondering about systemd alternatives.

I admit I don't know much about systemd, but every time I brush into it 
it looks complicated and like it is a do-everything mess, built by 
accretion not design. I admit, I'm ignorant, but I *do* know that there 
is something wrong with their design that they have to patch sshd. 
Patching sshd is simply WRONG, so I wonder about alternatives.

There seem to be a lot of alternatives. Any opinions on whether any are 
clean designs and well built?
