It does not.

Cyrus was started before DJB invented maildir format for qmail.
The Cyrus storage format is unique, and is also a partial
inspiration for maildir: it uses one file per message.

Cyrus expects the MTA to send it files for storage via LMTP.
Postfix can do this easily.
