During the Model A days, Ford tested on the open road. That led to a bad
accident in a test Model A that badly injured the engineer, Harold Hicks,
who went through the plate glass windshield. Henry specified safety glass
in the windshield as a result, the first for a low-priced car. A good
outcome from a bad accident. Ford later built a test track, which is where
this was filmed, I assume.
