John,

</div>
<div>Sorry attendance was a disappointment. My initial request for a room was done in the name of the IT Club which had lost its accreditation due to some stupidity on the part of the admin group that works with clubs.<br>

<div>Let’s think ahead. Pick a Saturday in June for the next InstallFest.  Send me the date you chose and I  will then reserve the room.</div>
<div><br>
</div>
<div>Once we get the room, you can send me the poster graphic and I will have it printed at Quinn Graphics on the UMB campus.</div>

</div>
<div>Over the summer we can pick a Wednesday in October for the next InstallFest.</div>

<div dir="ltr">
<div>I'd like to begin planning for the next InstallFest, at least as far as choosing the date. I'm thinking May or June would be best; I'd like to hold them at least four times a year if possible. </div>
<div><br>
</div>
<div>What are your thoughts regarding possible dates? Do we want to stick with Saturdays, or perhaps alternate between Saturdays and Wednesdays? Perhaps the Friday or Saturday immediately following a BLU meeting? </div>
<div><br>
</div>
<div>Today's InstallFest was a bit of a disappointment. The main issue seems to be that we didn't publicise the event early enough or widely enough. </div>
<div><br>
</div>
<div>This time around, I waited for confirmation of the room assignment before posting it to the calendar. Confirmation of the room didn't occur until essentially the last minute. </div>
<div><br>
</div>
<div>Next time, we should begin publicity once we've settled on the date, and then print the poster, and flyers, once we know what room we've been assigned to.</div>
<div><br>
</div>
<div>It might make sense to set up multiple large posters on the day of the event, and ordinary letter-size flyers a week or two before the event to promote awareness. Perhaps recruit a student volunteer to put up flyers, after we get permission to post them?</div>
<div><br>
</div>
<div>The ANSI E size poster was somewhat awkward. ANSI D is 22x34 inches, which should be fine. ANSI c is 17x22 inches, which seems far too small. </div>
<div><br>
</div>
<div>Jerry mentioned a store called Michaels. I checked their website, and they have a 22x28 inch poster board for 99 cents each. 22x28 inches seems like a good size. </div>
<div><br>
</div>
<div>We may be able to save money by providing the poster board for UMB's printing services to prein on, assuming they allow us to supply our own media. </div>
