Went in to see Jan this morning and she was sitting in a chair and
with a big smile said, "Hi Honey!" Big smile on her face, as if to
say "look at me!" She told me that she needed to use the facilities
as some say and she felt she was waiting on the nurse too long so she
just up and got out of bed and went in the bathroom and did what she
needed to do then she decided to sit down in the chair when came
out. That's my girl! A bit after noon her surgeon came in and we
three had a long talk. She...the surgeon...told Jan how well the
operation went and that section removed had been sent out for
examination. Told Jan everything from A to Z as she had told me but
although I told Jan everything the surgeon told me I thought it made
more of impression on her hearing if from the surgeon. Her doc asked
her what she had to drink and Jan told her that only ice chips in the
last 4 day. So the Surgeon said to her that we can up that a
bit...how about some ice cream? Jan wanted to know if they had
chocolate and was told I will write that in the orders but if not
what would you like? Vanilla! Turned out they were out of Chocolate
so she enjoyed vanilla and I mean she enjoyed it to the max. Shortly
after that a gal from the kitchen came in and wanted to know what she
would like for Dinner. She read off her lists and wrote down Jans
selection. This was to be a meal and a half! I commented that it
seemed a lot for her being on a liquid diet. Well that stopped the
gal dead in her tracks and she said are you Miss so and so? I said
know this is Jan. She apologized and said yes you are on a liquid
diet and cannot eat any of that stuff you choose yet. I am so
sorry. So she read off another list and Jan chose again. Was
certainly not as good sounding as the first list choosing. After
the gal left Jan told me that they are supposed to read the wrist ID
tape and ask questions before anything is dispensed. She did not
read my wrist band. So I learned a lesson.

She is off of all the pain meds and is doing well without them. On a
scale of 1-10 she is on a
1.
Her surgeon said that if everything keeps on the way it has been and
she continues to look good she will likely go home tomorrow (Sat).
I went back in this evening and she was enjoying her Chicken Noodle
soup and Chocolate Pudding and a real soda, and she was still
smiling. I told her of all the messages I had received from all you
guyz and told her when she is rested up at home she will be busy
answering all the messages from her friends and Groups of
friends. But she explained that she was ready for all of that and
had prepared for it. Not only do I have a great wife I have a very
smart Secretary. There will be more to do with follow-ups and etc.etc
and she is doing wonderful right now.

Again we must thank you for the prayers and good thoughts you have
raised in her name. Youse guyz are the greatest!
Chris
