I was wondering if anyone is using a 1GB SCSI drive

I believe that the 2742 driver that is under development (currently
available as an alpha version) will work with the 2842 as well, since
both boards use the same chipset. There might be some differences in
I/O port address and so forth that need to be dealt with.

It's certainly annoying that Adaptec doesn't publish the board
specifictions any more. I suppose they got tired of other companies
making Adaptec-clone boards (there are a lot of SCSI host adapters
out there with a 1542 compatibility mode), but closing up their specs
might hurt them more in the long run.
