Long Lasting Linux Laptops?

I particularly like it for its size and weight; tiny for a laptop, it's
almost small enough to be called a palmtop. Maybe "palm-and-wrist-top"
says it best, as I can hold it like that comfortably for quite a while
(I'm doing so as I type this, for instance). As I said earlier, the battery
life is the only problem I have with it; in every other respect, I really
love this machine. From some of the responses I've seen earlier, it seems
that this short battery life is not atypical; most folks have reported
getting only two to three hours.

Interesting. That sounds like a better solution than replacing the C1X.
Details would be much appreciated.

I'm running redhat 6.0 at the moment; I'll probably upgrade shortly after
the 2.4 kernel comes out.
