1. because there is no asm-i686

2. try updating ot a *recent* 2.5 release.

3. correct, the speed is very doubtful.  You should check the integrity of the files against their md5sum's / gpg signatures (if there are any).  Downloading 3 iso's over bittorrent should take a couple hours.
