Wed Sep 14 08:40:32 EDT 2005

When: September 21, 2005 7:00PM (6:30 for Q&A)
Topic: SELinux Overview
Moderator: Daniel J Walsh, Lead SELinux Engineer
Location: MIT Building E51 Room 315
Daniel talks about SELinux, a set of security enhancements to the Linux
kernel.
Security-Enhanced Linux (SELinux) is an implementation of a flexible
mandatory access control architecture in the Linux operating system,
originally developed by the NSA. The SELinux architecture provides
general support for the enforcement of many kinds of mandatory access
control policies. In this session, Dan Walsh will cover the high-level
concepts of SELinux. Dan will cover the design decisions which went
into developing the different policies, the differences between
policies, when and where to use them, and future directions of SELinux
within Red Hat solutions.

For more information, parking and directions, please go to the BLU web
site: http://www.blu.org

Additionally, we are planning a special meeting on Sunday, October 11th
featuring Jeff Waugh from Ubuntu. (We are also planning our regular
October meeting on October 19th).
