LED backlit LCD displays are definitely the best available displays.   
Unlike fluorescent, the LED backlights do not contain mercury.  They  
consume less energy, last longer and have a more uniform brightness.   
Kudos to the Apple on this.  I just wish I hadn't bought my MacBook a  
couple months back!
