[Discuss] VDI

I'm looking at doing a VDI pilot and I was wondering if anyone has any
suggestions or experiences they're willing to share.  I've looked some at
VmWare view but I also found something FOSS here http://www.foss-cloud.org.
 My primary use case is users connecting remotely from their own machines
over the internet although I'm interested in any experiences people have
with LAN/WAN thin clients.
