The $1600/year figure includes ISP cost. Yeah, I worded that poorly. 
Actual electricity is on the order of $35/mo at ~$0.16/kWh.

Which in hindsight is too low; that's only the generation charge. Actual 
electric costs are 40%-50% higher than what I've listed so far so are 
around $35 for the 4-disk microserver and about $65 for the 8-bay NAS. 
These are estimates based on full power load 24x7. In reality, 
processors will downclock and disks will spin down so actual power 
consumption will be lower. How much lower depends on usage.

FWIW, I'm on Natick's fixed rate which at the moment is higher than 
Eversource but that will change next year when the rates go up again... 
because mine won't.
