Though less than ideal because of the needed Oracle "extensions", Windows generally runs fine in VirtualBox, though you have to suck it up and add the non FOSS extensions pack to make things happy. I have done this on LInux and OSX where I need to run "ArcGIS" and have had no interest in dual-booting.
