I happened to notice today that the ugly pink model is now selling for
only $18 (or you can get black for $20):

The manufacturer has moved on to newer models, but these boxes with a
1.2GHz Marvell ARM, 256 MB RAM, Ethernet, and 4 USB ports should be
handy for hacking projects.
