Is there interest in doing a group "field trip" to places like the above
mentioned Southend technology center
(http://www.tech-center-enlightentcity.tv/)?

The Artisan's Asylum (https://artisansasylum.com/) would be the other
obvious destination. I'm not sure where else. While there are maker
spaces in RI, CT, and NH, I'd rather stuck to stuff in the Greater
Boston area.

MIT Media lab? iRobot? (or one of the several other robotics companies
in the area) Machine shops? Hacker-friendly suppliers of materials
(metal, plastic, wood)? Scrap yards? :-)

If there is enough interest I'll put together a list of suggested
destinations on some service where members can rank the choices. Then
I'll see if I can make arrangements to make a visit happen to the top
choice sometime early in 2013.

This is a small list, so at best I'd expect 8 or 10 people to express
interest and maybe 5 to actually be able to make it to the tour. So if
you have some interest, don't assume enough other people will speak up.

Post location suggestions and other commentary to the list. Send "yeah,
I'm interested" messages to me directly. Thanks.
