remember to make sure nt is running the tcp/ip netbios. get snoop or sniff or whatever it's called and see if the linux box "sees" nt stuff. make sure the nt machine isn't annoyed at whatever nt domain you're both in (or not both in.) ping, ftp, www access the nt box from the linux box to proove connectivity. experiment with lmhosts to confirm the nt box will talk to your linux box. if your linux box dual-boots then try dos or windows or some other thing that has an smb implementation to proove the two boxes can talk somehow. don't get depressed if you have to tell me you already tried all these things...
