I have a ThinkPad 600E and with the type number, I can get everything IBM knows from their web site. There is only a little Linux Info but what's there is useful. The 1'st thing I recommend is to upgrade to the most recent BIOS. --Blake -----Original Message----- From: Daniel Rinehart [mailto:danielr at ccs.neu.edu] Sent: Thursday, November 11, 1999 12:59 PM To: dmoylan at ibm.net Cc: boston linux discuss Subject: Re: thinkpad xf86config > have recently acquired a used ibm thinkpad with no manual or other > documentation. on the keyboard face it says "760ED" and on the > back "type 9547-U4G S/N 78-UYD73 96/10". I don't know how useful this page will be but I ran across it when I was looking for information on setting up X on my Thinkpad 560E. http://www.eecs.lehigh.edu/~tboult/linux/thinkpad760ed.html This is also another page on 760 information in general: http://www.muc.de/~hm/linux/thinkpad.html - Daniel R. <danielr at ccs.neu.edu> [http://www.ccs.neu.edu/home/danielr/] - Subcription/unsubscription/info requests: send e-mail with "subscribe", "unsubscribe", or "info" on the first line of the message body to discuss-request at blu.org (Subject line is ignored). - Subcription/unsubscription/info requests: send e-mail with "subscribe", "unsubscribe", or "info" on the first line of the message body to discuss-request at blu.org (Subject line is ignored).
