When: July 19, 2000 7:00 p.m. (6:30PM Q&A) Topic: Linux as your only machine/Windows Emulators Presented by: Jerry Feldman <gaf at blu.org> Location: MIT Building 4-370 I will be talking about the various ways Windows users can move over the Linux and continue using their favorite Windows applications. I have prepared a presentation for the IBM Share convention (http://www.share.org) at the Hynes on July 24th and 25th. I have TreLOS' win4lin installed on my laptop, but we'll discuss alternatives such as WINE and other emulators such as VMWare and Plex86. My formal presentation includes a discussion of setting up Linux for LAN access, but we do that every BLU meeting, so we'll focus on some of the alternatives. -- Jerry Feldman <gaf at blu.org> Boston Linux and Unix user group http://www.blu.org Subcription/unsubscription/info requests: send e-mail with "subscribe", "unsubscribe", or "info" on the first line of the message body to announce-request at blu.org (Subject line is ignored). - Subcription/unsubscription/info requests: send e-mail with "subscribe", "unsubscribe", or "info" on the first line of the message body to discuss-request at blu.org (Subject line is ignored).
