Solaris version number stew

A bit off topic but I heard you could install Solaris 8 over a previous
version and not have to reboot to get the new kernel to take effect.
Anyone know if thats true? Sounded pretty cool to me.

I ussually find www.sunhelp.org very helpful - I don't if that says alot
or little. I figured I would mention it.

Although your budget sounds large if you need GNU code prebuilt I ussually
use www.sunfreeware.com - you proberly know this already, but figured I
would pass it on anyways. They have GCC pre built there.

Good luck with it,
Anthony
