On SuSE I have done several upgrades with very few problems, and I routininely upgrade their fixes. One problem that all systems (Linux, Unix, Windows) face during upgrade is space. I always keep a version of Partition Magic with me so I can rearrange my partitions. I am about to upgrade my laptop from SuSE 7.1 to SuSE 7.3 beta. We'll see if I encounter any problems.
