Here's the blurb. Please let me know if you know anyone. Position: Data Analyst Compete advises leading companies on their customer strategies and competitive performance and you can be a critical part of that process. In this position, you will use Compete proprietary data models and perform analysis on large data sets. Using an innovative, state-of-the-art Terabyte Data Warehouse as well as Compete's file format, you will produce analytical reports, take responsibility for the data quality and analytics in answering questions core to Sales and Compete's customer base. You will interface with sales and marketing and other analysts to discern requirements and explain results. You will create and run production reports and create new scripts using Unix tools, Python and SQL. The ideal candidate should also be able to learn new technology quickly and thoroughly and be equally able to work as a team member or tackle a complex project individually. A Bachelors Degree and 3-5 years experience, an analytical mind, an attention to detail, strong experience on Unix systems, good SQL skills and strong Unix scripting experience are required. Familiarity with the language of the web is highly desirable as is exposure to Python.
