I installed SuSE 8.0 on my laptop the other day from DVD. My initial install had some I/O errors on some packages. After some problems, I decided to perform the installation a second time. The second installation was successful. Everything came up properly. So far no glitches with 8.0. After install, I performed an online update to get all the patches. One issue is that when downloading the patches it complains that GPG is not installed. BTW: SuSE has an online update feature that allows you to easily update your system to the latest patch level. You can select which patches you want to upgrade (manual update) or just select all (auto update). -- Jerry Feldman <gaf at blu.org> Associate Director Boston Linux and Unix user group http://www.blu.org PGP key id:C5061EA9 PGP Key fingerprint:053C 73EC 3AC1 5C44 3E14 9245 FB00 3ED5 C506 1EA9
