I didn't benchmark it, but it seemed faster than 7.3, but most of my online updates in 7.3 were via YaST1. I do think that YaST2 is much improved. They dropped YaST1. Note that they have dropped the rc.config (except for setting the path) and have moved toward the LSB way of doing things. To date, the only things on my laptop that did not work OOB after the install were: 1. Wireless - There is a bug with some Orinoco based cards which is discussed in the SuSE Linux unofficial FAQ. http://susefaq.sourceforge.net/ 2: Modem - I have not tried it yet, but I may need to download the latest Lucent driver.
