If you want to do video editing under Linux, I should point out that
I've had problems with the DV video capture that I'm convinced were 
due to IDE bottlenecks. I found a strap-on scsi bridge that converts
and ide drive into a scsi drive; it costs $80. I haven't received 
mine yet.
